During a typical trip, hunters are picked up at their hotel in Cranbrook around 7 a.m. on the first morning of the hunt. After gear is loaded, the first stop is the shooting range where the rifles are tested to ensure they are shooting true. From there, trucks take the group and their gear into the mountains —all the way to the start of an area closed to mechanized vehicles.  All trips allow for a full day at either end for packing gear and animals in and out of the bush.
